Lost But Not Undefeated

Well, the verdict was announced at around 8.45am this morning. The winner, Eddy Tai walked away with RM55 000 (additional RM 5K as he's an existing customer of RHB). The other top 10 contestants will be awarded RM 1 000 each by RHB for our hard work.

My phone was overloaded with calls and text messages up to 3pm. My family and friends cried as they were hoping to have a cause for a celebration this upcoming Raya. I was practically bombarded with questions like "Why are you so stupid not to open an account with RHB upon joining the contest", "Do you know what shameless things that Eddy did to win the contest besides appearing on TV and papers" and "Did you know your points, how did they decide upon the winner?" I was practically too tired to reply to any of those as I was craving for my soft bed after sleeping on the couch for 2 1/2 weeks.

In any competition, there will always be 1 ultimate winner. Eddy had his lucky break cracking the papers & TV stations with his Tun Dr. Mahathir's stunts that the rest of the contestants will find hard to match.

Acknowledging this from the start made me realised that I have to resort to more "shameless" methods of publicizing my cause and was known as the queen of crowd seeker by family and friends for being able to get photos with the most number of people in it. Unfortunately it was not enough to get me the top spot but nevertheless, has enabled me to get in touch with so many remarkable individuals. No monetary value could be placed for the wonderful experiences that I had the last 3 weeks, no amount of tears could replace the pain and agony that I went through.

To all of my supporters, thank you very much for all the faith that you have in me. I will continue to pursue other ways of securing the funds to take the kids at RACTAR for a field visit at Aquaria KLCC as well as exploring other ways to help out animal shelters like PAWS and TFFF. I will do these in stages and my 1st project will be to secure the funds needed to bring Raya cheer to RACTAR by organizing a trip for all the kids once they are back from Raya break. If anyone out there is interested to help out, please do not hesitate to mail me at annlivingwithikaserenacandpietro@yahoo.com. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

"annlivingwithikaserenacandpietro" will continue to spread love and instill the concept of sharing and caring among Malaysians even after the competition has ended.

Sincerely,

Only In My Dream

So, if you are presented with an opportunity of a lifetime to do a photo shoot with a Mazda MX5 that will only be launched in Malaysia next year, what will you do?

When I was presented with the same question, my immediate answer was "when?". When can I take those photos? Anytime was the reply.

Just like the lyrics, I packed my bags and was on my way to meet up with Julie & Stephen in KL. Once I got there, my spirits soared. Not only the MX5 was a pure beauty, the color of it matched the dress that I had picked to wear for the photo shoot.

So in various poses, I leaned, sat and smiled while the camera was very busy being clicked away. Do you know Debbie Gibson? Well, if you are about my age, 35, you would know that she has a song "Only In My Dreams" and it was such an apt title for this posting. I cannot afford a Mazda MX5 but I can afford to have great pictures with it.

Part of chorus of the song "Only In My Dreams" by Debbie Gibson.

Chorus:
No, only in my dreams
As real as it may seem
It was only in my dreams

Cheers,
NR
