The 1st Publicity - The Wedding of Hafiz & Aida, 26th August 2007, Banquet Hall, MBPJ Civic Complex, PJ.

Being blessed with great friends is something that I’m forever thankful for in my life. Today after collecting the cardboard cut out of Ika, Serena C & Pietro, I headed out of 1U towards the Banquet Hall of The Civics Centre, MBPJ with Robert, Elisa’s husband. We were to attend the wedding of our friend, Hadi’s son, Hafiz to the girl of him dream, Aida.

When we got there, things were well under way. I had earlier changed from my normal jeans and shirt to a blouse and a long skirt. To carry the cardboard cut out wearing a long skirt was truly hard. Even though Robert had volunteered to carry it for me, I felt that it’s my duty to do it on my own. My perseverance paid off. Many stopped me along the way to the table as they wanted to find out all about it. With growling stomach (I hope none heard the ugly sound), I explained to them the bond that I have with my three favorite deejays and instead of being ridiculed for being crazy enough to go for such a thing, each and every one of them wished me all the best. Thank you so much.

When I reached the table allocated to the people of Sealantis, the diving centre where all of us are affiliated to, Robert had already dished out the food for me. With much gusto, I attacked the food with new found strength (I told you I was hungry!). Halfway thru, my friend and a dive-master in training, Arsyhad, told me that the lovely newlyweds on stage has agreed to take a couple of shots with me and my cardboard cut out! Without much hesitation, I swallowed whatever food that I was still chewing in my mouth, gulped down the last bit of drink that I still have in my glass, got my 3 buddies and made my way towards the stage. I shook hands with the newlyweds, wished them all the best and after explaining the mechanics of the competition, placed my 3 buddies in between their chairs and myself among the relatives and friends who were taking shots with the couple and got another guy to snap the photos for us. The result was this brilliant shot, unedited to preserve its originality.

To Hadi and family, thank you so much for being so kind to support me in my new quest of winning that RM 50 000. Your support meant a lot to me and the memory of getting my 1st publicity during such a joyous ceremony among my own friends is something that will forever stay in my heart.
