Hannah Tan

The Showcase

Well, if you are a Malaysian, you are sure to know who Hannah Tan is. But if you don't, it is still not too late. Just do a search on Google and you'll have an information overload.

Here I am at Mardigrass, a newly open Pub & Bistro in 1Utama hoping to catch the famous Hannah Tan and get her to sign my cut out. Unfortunately, luck was not on my side.

Below is a quote from an impromptu interview with FHM Malaysia's sexiest woman 2006, Hannah Tan.

"Malaysian celebrity Hannah Tan acquired her first of two music Diplomas at the tender age of 13, this Bsc (Hons) in Computing and Information System degree holder first shot into fame by winning a series of Beauty Pageants including Miss Penang Pesta Millennium in 2001/2002 and Miss Perak Petite in 2002/2003. Hannah went on to claim the National Miss Malaysia Petite title in the same year (Hannah was also the 2nd. Runner-up title in Miss Global Petite International World Finals 2002/2003 in Montreal, Canada.)

Versatile and multi-talented, Hannah is a charming beauty, model, Emcee, TV Host, Advertising spokesperson and recently has started writing for magazines and is currently working on her debut solo album, ‘Crossing Bridges’ scheduled for release in September 2006"

Vince

Not feeling dishearten, I kept an eye out for the crowd. I spotted Vince, the clear winner of Akedemi Fantasia 1, and being the gentleman that he is, he not only posed with me, he even took the time to ask about the competition. Vince wished me all the best and with a firm handshake, we parted ways. Thank you so much Vince.

Markiza & Peter Hassan

I then met a very interesting lady by the name of Markiza, who is a singer for the band Soft Touch (www.lemang.com). We had a lovely conversation mainly on the topic of why I'm doing the competition , how to get more exposure and on her part, about some of the fishes that she saw while snorkeling in Redang, her love and passion for music as well as the lack of support that is given to the alternative music scene in Malaysia. Both Markiza and her husband are apparently trying to provide an alternative venue for young kids to express themselves creatively but so far the road ahead proved to be extremely challenging. Giving up on their goal has never been something that they will ever do. They welcome anyone who would like to give them a hand in providing more media exposure.

The way I see it, there is a very distinct similarity between Markiza & me. Both of us do not give up easily and just like her, I will continue to explore more ways to get as much publicity as I could in order to emerge a winner for Living With Ika, Serena C and Pietro.

I was Spotted, I was Spotted.

If you were to expose yourself in a crowded area, you are sure to be spotted. Tonight, I had a few spotters approached me and after taking the required shots, my advice to them was to relate our chance meeting in a very funny way so that their story will be aired. I wished them all the best and never ever give up! Have fun everyone.
